Studio Owner and Instructor: Alicia Carter
Alicia has been part of the dance world for the last 36 years. She trained under Suzuko Riewe of the Hong Kong Royal Ballet and company member of the American Ballet Theater, and Patty Pille who studied under one of the founding mothers of Cincinnati Ballet, Rita O’Neill. From them she learned ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, and hip hop. She competed nationally in the studio and all star circuit for both dance and cheer. She also grew up in the gymnastics world at a nearby facility. She began teaching dance at the age of 14 and has continued ever since. For the last 25 years she has taught numerous recreational classes along with running three nationally ranked dance teams. She opened The Artistic Dance Center in 2017 where she offers recreational and competitive dance classes for all ages and styles, including adults. Recently she has been choreographing for local school musicals and dance teams, but her newest endeavor at ADC is The Artistic Dance Collective which is a worship dance troupe that spreads the message of God to the public through dance. When she isn't running the studio she is a mother of five and fifth grade school teacher at St. John XXIII. She loves empowering students to do their best, and she loves to help them grow not only as a dancer but as a person. She takes great pride in seeing the success her former students have had not only in the dance world but in life. She has been lucky enough to help in the formation of college dancers, company dancers, dance teachers, teachers, business men and women, therapists, doctors, zoologists, and more. She feels very blessed to have had the privilege of working with so many amazing people, and she can't wait to see who comes into her life next. She hopes to foster not only a love of dance but a love for life in each of her students. She believes deeply that life is a gift, and she knows how important it is to constantly be spreading positivity even in the darkest moments.
